Thanks so much to all the athletes, donors and sponsors who participated in the 2021 virtual version of our annual Run, Walk and Roll event! Through your efforts during the month of May, The Arc of Delaware raised almost $6000 and had some fun along the way.
This was Bill and Jo’s second virtual Walk, Run & Roll for The Arc of Delaware. Friends Pam and Sarah provided push assistance, while the rest of the supportive crowd walked along with them. Each year, these friends participate in the event together, then adjourn to one of their homes for a picnic lunch and celebration.
A special feature this year was online registration. With that came the ability to donate online and create your own team page to support the cause. A huge thanks to all the teams who together raised over $3000–Chesapeake Utilities Cares, Pam’s Peeps, Michelle’s Walk, Renee’s Walk and especially Kimmy’s Fundraiser. Kimmy’s team, which included her sister Lori, had the highest response, raising over $1500 to support The Arc of Delaware.
Kimmy and her sister Lori created Kimmy’s Fundraiser page, which brought in over $1500!
Of course, we could not have finished successfully without the support of our generous sponsors. The backs of the event t-shirts displayed the good will of Acer Associates, Allstate: The DeSanctis Agency, Radius Rx Direct, Bayhealth, Edgewell Personal Care and WSFS bank, all of whom have supported this event for many years. We also welcomed two new sponsors this year: Forever Green Lawn Service and Tracy Palmer Ministries.
Another message on the shirts was recognition of Terry Olson, who led The Arc of Delaware as Executive Director for 9 years before retiring in 2021.Terry’s dedication and contributions, especially to our Housing program, benefitted not only the organization but also many people in Delaware with IDD. We wish him the very best in his retirement.
Jerome, David, Robin, and Steve represent the Ricland Home in Seaford. They have participated in this event for many years, always walking together.
Last but far from least, we recognize and appreciate Sue, a long-time supporter of The Arc of Delaware who moved to Colorado a few years back. When we converted the Run, Walk & Roll to a virtual event, Sue was once again able to participate with us. What a positive, unexpected outcome! Thanks for your continuing support, Sue….from 1500 miles away!
“Run, Walk & Roll happened in Colorado! I walked 11 miles in the beautiful mountains near our home in CO on Friday, May 27, 2021! I am so thankful for The Arc of Delaware.”
