Responding to constant requests for a “live event”, The Arc of Delaware held its premier Halloween drive-through event in Dover on October 23, 2021. The weather was great, and spirits were high. More than 100 individuals attended, most in costume. Some walked in, some rode through with a driver and others arrived as groups in a van. Each person was provided with a disposable Halloween mask, and everyone present enjoyed seeing and interacting with their friends again.

A large number of volunteers turned out to make this day possible. Boy Scout troop #24 was there to help direct traffic and many Mid-Del volunteers handed out treats from the trunks of their cars.

As D.J. Lori T. played music throughout the Wyoming U.M. Church parking lot, some attendees sat in their cars to enjoy listening, while others got out and danced.

With such a positive response, The Arc of Delaware is looking at more opportunities for similar events in the future, such as a holiday meet-up in December. Watch our website and social media for more information on this and other upcoming social events.
