A Great Day for Golf!

August 1, 2022 dawned bright and breezy for The Arc of Delaware 30th annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction, held once again at Hartefeld National in Avondale, PA. This sold-out event was enjoyed by over 130 golfers and supported by more than 17 sponsors and 20 volunteers.
With a scrambled shotgun start at noon, golfers competed for top overall scores and special rewards along the way. For example, two different hole sponsors offered a free car to anyone who shot a hole-in one. (No one won these prizes this year.)
Volunteers also sold chances on Bet-a-Birdie, where players could double their money by hitting under par.
The PGA champion from Charity Golf International was enormously popular. His long drive contest was not only entertaining but raised over $3000 by itself.
As the day wound down, golfers gathered at the clubhouse for drinks, dinner and to browse the silent auction items.
Following dinner, golf chairman Doug Johnston presented awards for first, second and third place, along with longest drive, straightest drive and closest to the pin. The evening wrapped up with a successful silent auction, where more than 85 donated items were purchased to support The Arc of Delaware.
A big thanks to the Golf committee –Doug Johnston, Karen Crowley and Elaine Raign—and the entire team of volunteers for making this year’s event a huge success!
